Note: the fuel/air mixture only changes the idle speed performance (screw the screw in until the engine starts to die and then back the screw off 1/2 to 3/4 turn).
You did something else in the process to make the cycle run this crappy! I suspect that the vacuum diaphragm is now leaking and this causes a failure of the air/fuel needle slide to lift.
